Story #1

People who take Interstate 790 regularly had to take a detour because of a bad car accident. The accident happened in the northbound lanes, closing the entire highway. A chain reaction started on the Interstate by two tractor trailers colliding together. Four tractor-trailers and 14 cars were involved, states the police departments, Sgt. Albert Wei. Unfortunately two people died and 20 people were injured and taken to the hospital, four people are in serious condition. The fire department ambulances were there helping out. They had to cut off the roofs of the cars to free people who were trapped inside. Five fire department ambulances, along with four nearby city’s fire departments. A helicopter from Memorial Hospital came and air lifted two of the four seriously injured victims to a trauma center in Statesville. Sgt. Albert stated that he didn’t know when Interstate 790 would open again. The police are still investigating the accident.
