Do's and Don'ts of leads.

The things I have learned about leads is that they need to be simple, and interesting. To make a good lead you need to write objectively, specifically and emphasize the point. The lead is the most interesting or unusual part of the first paragraph.
What breaks a lead is if you put too much time and effort on the time and the place the event/story occurred (an agenda lead). Also if you state the obvious in your lead is going to be boring and sound like every other lead about that topic.

  1. That is so true about being simple and interesting. Also its hard to get the important stuff in few words as possible

    • Missing a word in this sentence: "Also if you state the obvious in your lead is..."
